Assessment requirements

The assessment is conducted using projects as part of the problem-based learning model. Learners will undertake two (2) projects of differing size and complexity. The deliverables (assessment tasks) for each project have been designed to reflect deliverables expected by industry in combination with realistic workplace tasks, response to case studies and feedback from trainers acting as the client.

This includes preparation of checklists to guide the assessment of plans, conducting stakeholder engagement sessions and conducting access audits that are required as part of the project work.

In working through the delivery for each project, the learners will create various workplace documents and outputs relating to the units of competency being delivered such as reports marked plans and risk management assessments. Where appropriate, the learner will be supplied with template documents and tools to facilitate learning.

A trainer will guide and support learners throughout the assessment process. The trainer will ask probing questions, provide feedback and clarify misunderstandings (as would a client in the workplace environment), and ensure that learners stay on track.

This will be facilitated through the one-on-one sessions programmed into the course.

The learner will submit the Project work which will be reviewed by the assessor according to defined benchmarks established from the knowledge and performance evidence.
